Selenium and Vitamin E Chemoprevention Trial (SELECT)
This study is sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI)/Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG) and will be approximately 12 years in length. This is a very large trial that has enrolled approximately 32,400 subjects across the United States. Washington University enrolled 111 subjects. The purpose of this trial is to see if supplements, selenium and Vitamin E can prevent or reduce the occurrence of prostate cancer in healthy men.
